I Have Been Where You Are

There is a reason people often say mediation feels different here. It is because I have been where you are.

I know what it feels like to sit across from someone you once trusted, not knowing how you are going to get through the next conversation, let alone the next chapter of your life. I know the weight of hard decisions about children, family, property, and aging parents. And I know that what most people need is not a judge telling them what to do, but someone genuinely in their corner, helping them find their own way forward.

That is what I do.

"I have been in the trenches. I understand."

Decades of Real-World Negotiation

I hold a degree in Political Science and History from Sam Houston State University, and I have spent decades working in environments where the stakes were real, emotions ran high, and the right words at the right moment made all the difference.

I negotiated agreements between private businesses, major organizations, and local governments to drive economic development in mid-sized Texas cities, bringing new employment opportunities, name-brand retail, and dining options to communities that had been overlooked. I led the planning, negotiation, fundraising, and on-the-ground implementation of a downtown revitalization initiative that achieved a 94% compliance rate with its goals. I facilitated formal international negotiations across three countries for the exchange of aerospace exhibits and historic artifacts, identifying points of collaboration and presenting the final agreement to the local authorities who signed off on it. As the owner of an entertainment company, I negotiated contracts and resolved disputes between entertainers, venues, doctors, hospitals, and special interest groups in fast-paced environments where relationships and reputations were always on the line.

Before any of that, I served as an EMT, a foster parent to teenage girls, a mental health peer counselor, and an assault crisis line counselor. I served as a Second Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol, teaching search and rescue skills and training rescuers to safely disarm Black Hawk helicopters, rescue downed pilots, and locate and care for the lost and injured. I have lectured law enforcement on domestic violence and child abuse, and served on the boards of United Way and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Resolution Without Destroying What Remains

I became a TMCA credentialed mediator because I believe most families want the same thing: resolution without destroying what is left of the relationship. My approach is structured, respectful, and practical. Whether you are navigating divorce, custody and visitation, property division, elder care, or inheritance disputes, I will help you move from conflict toward an agreement you can live with and stand behind.

Court is not always the answer. But finding common ground does not have to feel impossible. That is what I am here for.
